We all want to save our earth. But sometimes we may not get enough ideas. During the lockdown, we are all bored at home. This is the best time to do some DIY which would help save the Earth as well.
Ever thought of making a holder for your desk? Yup, you heard me right. This DIY that I am going to share is made by reusing a plastic soft drink bottle.
Here are the steps on how to do it. But before that, let me tell you what you need.
Things needed:
· A soft drink bottle (500 ml or bigger)
· A paper cutter
· Acrylic or spray colors
· Googly eyes (optional)
· Cotton (optional)
· Brushes (one wide and one thin)
· A newspaper sheet and some tissues (to be less messy)
Step 1- Cut a washed and dried soft drink pet bottle into it into half with a paper cutter.
Step 2 – Decide how you want your holder to look. Now, prepare your work station by spreading a newspaper. You don’t want to get a scolding, do you?
Step 3 – Take the bottom half and paint it in a basic color according to your theme.
Step 4 – Based on your theme, use paint or embellishments to decorate it. You can make designs of your choice using a contrast color paint. You can even have messages depicting the importance of saving our earth. Alternatively, you can make it look better by sticking googly eyes if it matches your theme.
I used some cotton, made it into the shape I wanted and added colors to get the nose for the character I tried creating.
Your DIY holder is ready. You can also choose to use this as a holder for your pens, brushes, art supplies, or anything you choose it.
You can also use it as a planter if you pick a bigger bottle. Don’t forget to make a small hole at the bottom of the planter to drain the excess water out.
